I love it when I write a text and use all kinds of punctuation, dividing it into paragraphs and all that. Basically, I enjoy expressing my thoughts clearly and beautifully. I don’t know the proper names for the short, medium, and long dashes, and I only recently started paying attention to this. On the iPhone, it’s easy to choose a shorter or longer dash, but I haven’t found such a feature on the Mac.

Maybe it’s possible to set it up so that the Mac automatically replaces symbols? For example, two short dashes that are easy to type on the keyboard could instantly turn into a long one.

Adding auto-replacement is probably the most convenient option for me. It’s indeed easier on iPhone, but there are plenty of options for Mac as well https://setapp.com/how-to/type-em-dash-on-mac. This guide explains how to use short and long dashes without wasting time searching for the right symbols. The same applies to characters like ±, which I add with auto-replacement because they’re not on the keyboard, even though I use them often in text.

I know the joy of feeling happy when thoughts are clearly arranged with proper punctuation and organization it really facilitates communication! If you enjoy communicating ideas clearly, you may find this tip on saving text messages https://clerk.chat/blog/text-message-archiving-for-financial-advisors/ for financial advisors useful. It discusses keeping things clear in business communication. Regarding the dashes, it's amazing how a small element can alter the tone of a sentence! On a Mac, you can use keyboard shortcuts or the Character Viewer to find the en-dash and em-dash. It's well worth a try!
