Just for fun, what mouse do you use? And on what dpi do you play?
I just wondered some players without an aimbot... There must be a reason

I have the same one as VK, but imho it's not a very good mouse, at least for me.


I bought my father another mouse, one that looks similar to the MS Sidewinder. It's a bit unusual if you played with a "normal" one before, but once you get into it, you really start to love that ergonomic shape. My next mouse might be that one.
Bad thing was, that when I came back home to my own mouse, I sucked in using it for a few days.

For the MX518 I use the default DPI, should be something like 1500. I actually hate the buttons on this mouse to regulate the DPI. The setting is not saved if you change it, so you start with 1500 at every Windows start and then you sometimes accidentially hit one of the buttons when pressing the mouse wheel. And you can't really use other modes because Windows is set to one mousespeed and you get pretty bad in other modes then. I only used it a few times when sniping in America's Army 3 to really hit a target on a few hundred yards in the head, when it's really pixel work to aim.
Or in Modern Warfare, when I was under the effect of a handgrenade, which slows your view reaction extremely down.


I loved my old Trust GM-4200 more than this MX518, it had only one DPI-button to double the resolution, if necessary, and a bit better shape and it was only half as expensive as the MX. I just needed a new mouse when I broke the mouse wheel axis on the old one (I have Alt.Fire on mouse wheel-button).

i know that the help&advice-thread wasn't supposed to post every user's mouse, but since we did it there nevertheless i at least wanted to post the link (and since i doubt the real skol* will ever come back we at least know what mouse he used!)

i am still very glad with my g9, even though i have to connect it to a windows-pc to change the led-colour on it... not possible on a mac... argh... -.-

and by the way i have seen the mouse on amazon for only 50€ which is pretty much a bargain (especially compared to the 95€ i payed back then...)



@crusha: you have alt-fire on middle mouse button what's on your right mousebutton then? shield?

I jump on Right Mouse - that way I am a great at jumping quickly away from any danger.

-Mouse 4 -> pull Linkgun, use it's AltFire until button is released, then switch back to old weapon.
-Mouse 5 -> the same for Shieldgun

-I walk with the Arrow Keys.
-Every letter from the alphabet is a teamchat-command like "Assault the Base"
-Num0 -> Crouch
-Enter -> Use

-Other Numpad Number Keys are used for functions of Ballistic Weapons

I got no problems at all with my mouse, otherwise i should not buy the same again :p

- Backspace is jump
- c Croush
- e use
(Azerty keyboard)

Maybe i can use 1 of my side buttons on my mouse.. never thinkt about that xd

but tell me, have i read it right - you press and hold mouse 4 and your player pulls the link gun, directly uses alt-fire and when u release it you switch back to you old weapon? how the heck do u manage to do that in settings?


@VK: because you use c for crouch and e for use, i guess u have W A S D for standard movement.... how the heck do u press the jump button? i mean backspace? i can't imagine that at all =S

for me, i use

- middle mouse button for horn
- mouse 4 for the macro menu

- WASD standard movement
- e = use
- shift = crouch
- space = jump
- y x c and f for weapon shortcuts (e.g. c =shock rifle)
- v = throw weapon
- r = teamspeak, q = shield


i used to have translocator on F since it is very handy to press the button again after u fired it to view where it lands... but since only 2 maps (?) on our server (silva and suspense) need translocator i replaced it....
