So everybody claims for map changes.

Therefore I created this tread, and I will add/change/remove some vehicles if u want.

Here my question : What u want to change in valarna ?

Nothing.

Sure that "everybody" wants to change this? I think it plays very fine for )o( conditions. It's probably more likely to lose popularity if you change something on the current setup.

personally I'd like to remove kraken, mino and the wasp...
but... honestly... without those vehicles - would people still vote this map?
I don't think so... I mean don't get me wrong, I'd be the first to raise my hand if we were voting on removing valarna completely!!! but in case we leave it on the maplist, people need their spammy )o(-stuff to be happy...

i bow to the majority =/

It doesn't play fine, there is bunch of quick matches because of some mapper's lapses.

There is lack of vehicles in base, in the end the team can't defend itself against 2 enemy Minos, 2 Bios, 2 Wasps, 1 Arbalest and 1 Kraken. Most of the losses are caused by losing the closest node.

My very first idea: Mino in base could be spammy, so we should keep it where it is (at least the team has a strong motivation to get the node quickly). New Firetank into base. Move the Bio from the village node to node closest to the base (or to the base?), place the Railgun tank instead of it. Create new jumppads from base near of the closest node and from the node below the hill near of the "Mino" node. Maybe 1 or 2 new Mantas in the base or below the hill could help longer matches too.

What's your ideas?

Also, what about change the wasp for a falcon or phoenix ?

sounds very reasonable!

and yes, replace the wasp with falcon or aurora (not phoenix)

ok so here the change which (I think) should be ok :

Arbalest nodes : change tarantula for badger.
mino nodes : change wasp for falcon
bio nodes : change bio for railgun, change tarantula for manta
aegis nodes : change scorp for badgers
Center node : nothing
Nearest core nodes : change tarantula into manta.
Cores : add ballista, add firetank, add one more manta.

What u think ?

one more thing: you forgot about the bios you replaced now! ^^
they can't go! maybe add biotank to middle node?
it should get more action in the middle this way...


now we only got one problem: when all nodes lost, team has hard work to do to get primaries back (being attack by minos from each side, 1 ballista, railgon tanks etc) --> enemy could deploy kraken and spam and destroy the primaries at will without being attacked AT ALL...
but when i think about it, once both primaries are lost, game is over anyway... so team should put effort into getting the mino node back.

Could you post your ideas again, how to balance this map and prevent the horrible numbers of quick matches (check out the statistic - you have to open the match, many of the "long matches" were "reloaded")? Thom, Ice, Kent, VK, Crusha, pirra, lila... Everyone who's reading this thread.

So personally :

At core add 1 mino and 1 fire tank, 2 mantas.
One mino nodes change mino for ballista, change wasp for falcon or phoenix (phoenix should be better I think)
Att primary nodes change tarantula for assault hellhound, and also add jumpad to get this node quickly (from core to node)
Change tarantula at arbalest node by badger
Change bio for railgun tank
Add/ change another vec at middle node (there isn't any interesting vec, therefore seldom are people who get it)

What u think ?
