What did you watch recently?

Yesterday came Edward Scissorhands in free-tv.

I love those surrealistic movies by Tim Burton, the neighbourhood in the film was like an artwork. Every building had it's own candy-like colour and between all those colourful and cliché people who live in this copybook-world was that strange boy in black-white. Magnific.

Did you watch it 1-st time?

Last movie i watched recently was "district 9" in cinema of course. I cant say it shook me, but it worth to see it. Style and atmosphere reminds me awesome Children of the men.

Yeah, was my first time. Johnny Depp is just a great actor.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Pirates of the Caribbean and another film whose title I don't know anymore. He played a burned-out writer who went to a house at a lake to get some new inspirations. In German it would be called "The Secret Window", don't know if it's the same in English.

Today came [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Naked_Gun:_From_the_Files_of_Police_Squad!]The Naked Gun. I just love any kind of parody, so this was perfect for me.

I think I never really watched a horror-movie in cinema. Only alone in my dark room late in the night. Don't know if the atmosphere would be better or worse in cinema.

well, alone in your dark room late in the night is much more scarier lol. By the way today we (my family including my brother and my parents) watched Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (I read all the Harry Potter books btw). lol at Ron when he's under the effect of love potion.

Yeah, I've heard that some of Rowling's metaphors for the preteen-into-puberty-into-adulthood transition can be a bit lame, but whacha gonna do, right? As far as the movie goes, personally I'm gonna try to avoid going to see it, although I fear that I may be dragged there by a friend who's watched 'em all so far in cinemas just as likely in the end cause there's not much else to see this month (grrr, you stupid greek distributors, where the fuck is District 9 and where's Moon too? Edit: just found out D9's coming here Oct. 22... wtf?!). At least most US TV shows are starting in a fortnight or so (I know House is at least), so there'll be some of those to tide us over during this dry season. Also, the triple-A PC games season is just around the corner too, starting early Sept. up to Thanksgiving (late Oct.), so that's another plus too.

Btw, Crusha, don't you go to the movies at all or watch newer stuff? What's all these 80s movies you only keep talking about here? For instance, I just went to see Inglourious Basterds tonight (and it was nothing above average even by Tarantino's standards; you can easily skip that one IMO). Last week I downloaded and watched Bruno (insufferable and ~80% a ripoff of Borat's novelty concept) and 2 weeks before that, I swiped a 2CD DVDrip of Watchmen from my bro's USB drive and saw that too. C'mon, man, there's plenty of recent content to talk about, don't bog us down with old news!
Eyes in the skies.

Didn't know the movies where that old. I go of course also into cinema for newer movies, but there are not many I watch.

In any I case I go into each new Harry Potter, but the longer the books are, the less good is the movie.

I also went into The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy because I am a great fan of the books. The movie wasn't even bad (though you just can't get all of the humour of the book into movies, as much fun comes out of the description of the things), but it didn't sold well and so there will be probably no next part.

And then there is a German comedian whose movies are just too great to not watch them.

I got two of them also on DVD and the bonus material is the best I ever saw on a DVD.
I also watched that movie about 12 times or more and can still laugh about the jokes and sometimes even discover another thing that I didn't notice before.

And in cinema also the movies with Will Smith.

Hi, did anyone see Gamer or Antichrist lately? If so, how were they? The last movie I saw was The Shining (saw it before, but now everything was clearer to me). Loved the chilling atmosphere.

"I fear you will have to deal with this matter in the harshest possible way, mr. Torrance. I fear... that is the only thing to do."
