Just a heads up. I just picked up the BF3 Limited Edition oday. BUT turns out EA has totally screwed up the install for this game. You get a disc, but all that seems to do is install Origin. After that, and ignoring the install instructions for with disc since they are totally wrong, you activate it through Origin and download it...yes i said download it. Despite it coming with a second disc containing all the files, that btw you cant use because you cant unzip the folder in there without the first one, which you dont get. So you spend a couple hours or so downloading the game...only to have to download an almost equally large patch....so be prepared to not be able to play it for the first day it seems like.

And for thos of you who dont know what Origin is, its EAs version of steam.....only it really sucks. Thats right, BF3 is not steam based anymore. So lets see how buggy the game ends up being.....

... which is why I am not pre-ordering any more games. I got burnt on pre-ordering Dead Island - that game was so buggy on the initial launch that it was pretty much unplayable. At this point, I'm more than willing to let others beta-test these games (even if I don't get the $2 discount or the "shiny widget thingy" they include in pre-orders) because these companies are obviously not properly beta testing them before they push them out the door.

I don't have any experience with the Origin downloads system but I have heard others complain about it. Good to know, thanks for the heads up!

origin seems to be a huge virus. if u accept their terms and conditions its the same like giving them full access to ur pc. well they cant get all ur data, but still a lot they really dont need.

im sorry, i dont have an english article about this, only german. so i cant give u a link with the proof.

i have never played the other bf games and i wont play this one. origin is the main reason.

I agree cpt. eagle, it is much better than when it first released - but that's my point, the game was a total mess when it released (apparently they released a beta or test version to Steam), and they have updated to correct many of the issues, but there are still lingering issues. I'm not trying to pick on that one game, I just don't like paying to be a field beta tester for these games - that's the job of the game developers.

I say we all should just go in together and buy one of those setups! Hey, it's only $650,000... I'm sure enough of us could take out a second mortgage on our houses to cover it.

I think I would ditch the paintball-pain-feedback-thingy though. I have a feeling Panda would make it a point to get in behind you and shoot you in the back non-stop just for laughs!!
