toumanisquirrel wrote: Just posted about it here ![]() https://www.gametracker.com/clan/undeadunion/forum.php?thread=80300 I didn't post the part with the maps before because working on the models took a while and I wanted to post them together. toumanisquirrel wrote: Yes, but the mods you have installed are client side only, and only you see the custom skins. And the client side mod only allows you to have one mod per survivor. The difference with the server pack is that everyone can be a completely different character and everyone can see all those characters in the game at the same time. The pack doesn't affect your normal skins or client side mods you have installed. I should have mentioned that before. ![]() gurotesque wrote: Maybe some people will get carried away, but last time Aixa, Charlie, Luna, Alyce, and myself played with them we didn't go crazy changing models all the time. We all picked one and stuck with it. I really had no idea the complete model pack would have taken up so much space. Some models are very small, and some textures take up a lot of space. I REALLY wish I could make it smaller without deleting any characters. If only the game could read the file in a zipped format, but I don't think it can. I wasn't even going to make a lite model pack, but it wouldn't be fair to have everyone just download 10GB like that. That's why I asked about the size before posting it. Just get the lite model pack, it's 90% smaller, and I think that's much fair to everyone. I'm thinking though, maybe I should only use the lite model pack on both servers, and only use the complete pack on the back up server when people want to play with other characters. I mention this because some people are alright with the large model pack and some are not such as your self. What do yo guys think? |

If you can do that, it'd be great. I play a lot of games, they require a lot of my hard drive, and sacrificing 10gb when I could download 2 or 3 games instead, just for left 4 dead, is not something I wanna do. I just don't wanna see huge Error messages where an other survivor should be, just because that person has the model pack and I don't.

gurotesque wrote: That's fair enough. And you raise a topic which I've been wanting to ask for a while. I will switch the lite model pack to server #1 and put the complete one on server #2. So for server 1 you have a 5GB map pack and a 1GB model pack. And for server 2 whoever wants the complete package can try it there. |

Someone on Steam just pointed out to me that in order to download the server pack, you need to make a 4shared account if you don't have one already. I didn't know this because I'm always logged into my 4shared account. Will have to move the links somewhere else. Do you need an account with skydrive to download stuff there?

Never tried hosting a torrent before. But from what I read just now, I'd have to seed it from my PC. My upload speed is not that great for me to seed such a large torrent. I tried looking for a site where I can upload the file to and host the torrent from there, but didn't find any good info for that
![]() But what does it say for you on4shared as to why you can't download it? |
