Dear GT Admins,
It has come to light that you have terminated many servers on your tracking list due to surpassing the limit of 3 spectators. While this is understandable and you have a rule for it, it is clear that the rule does not fit the purpose that it was created for. I can see the pain of dealing with an annoyed community, servers aren't going to go away and servers who are trying to abuse the system are being restricted. But... It is clear to a simple player of said community, that you are out of touch with the very games and servers you track. Speaking from a ze aspect, both from csgo and css, certain players lead the maps from spectator should they have become mother zombie, or people simply spectate others to learn complex parts of intrecate maps. Similarly, on bhop and surf servers, players will spec bots who can replay records or watch good players as they attempt records or insane skips. The fact that you have removed these servers is fine, you have the right to do so. But rather I would suggest a revision of your policy and rules regarding this. My favorite map on csgo ze has a 10-minute boss, that doesn't include the zombies and is complicated and tiring. Instead of watching the action from afar, players can spec leaders and older players to learn from this sequence -only to join in the following rounds. While I agree that there should be caution spent when dealing with servers who have a lot of specs, it's important to note that all these servers have afk kickers for people who don't input anything into their keyboard. These are communities who run off donations and need constant support to keep running, the idea of forging a population off fake data may happen, BUT, to what degree is it viable to cut off potential applications of these up and coming servers to help combat the "spec" boost problem, which may, in turn, affect in the continuation of their own server. In the idea of not making this site obsolete, please revise your spectator rule and refrain from distancing yourself from the player base. I am just a player, I don't care what you do, but there is a lot of admins and owners out there who benefit from your exposure and would lose a lot from an outdated and inefficient ruleset. In short, I went onto a server with two of my friends and we stayed afk, then reported the server and it's now removed from the list. lmao For the benefit of this gaming community, please revise your system. -sc

The server was removed ... You need to correct that sentence it was just NR meaning now they are higher rank below all servers. They will appeal it and might come back in listing.
The rule for spectator is 3 and that goes to all gaming type . |

Dear "community enthusiast" Yer
I can affirm that the server was removed, they have lost their top 15 ranking and thus have been removed. In this topic, it details the surroundings of the issue: https://www.gametracker.com/forums/forum.php?site=1&thread=152280 But as you clearly haven't understood what I wrote previously, let me spell it out for you. These servers won't be reinstated as you so naively suggest. Because of this "Spectator Rule" which, as it so happens, to be the very topic of this discussion. Further evidence that you have a severe lacking in knowledge on this particular topic. Chimera500, a GT Admin responded, detailing that GT was in the right because of this "spec rule." And as you mention, the spectator rule is one that affects all gaming types. AND this is the problem. They have not assessed the fact that some games include spectators, hence this discussion and my rebuking or your generalistic statements. Here are the facts: - Server reports are not blindly accepted by the administrators. - All server reports are investigated by an administrator before a decision is made to de-rank. - If a server is de-ranked it is because the administrator has found it to be in violation of the rules. If you take these statements into consideration, our report on a top server was: - NOT BLINDLY ACCEPTED, - WAS INVESTIGATED and - WAS DERANKED DUE TO A VIOLATION. Now, before server competitors start mass reporting servers in order to better their own server on the list, I strongly suggest this rule be reconsidered and revised. When dealing with requests, Chimera read every request for re-ranking to determine if it meets the criteria for consideration. He claims that people don't read the rules but I put it to him and the entire GT Admin outfit, that your Rules. Are. Outdated. In the end, I would implore the GT Staff to weight up the potential of abusing with the spec system compared to abusing the ranking by speccing on other servers. For the benefit of all the different parts of this gaming community, please revise your system. |
