DDOS = server deleted?

Our server was being DDOS'd with Spoofed IPs being that of GameTracker IPs. Our provider thus had to temporary filter out your IPs as a result of this, making our server appear offline obviously.

Now a couple of days has passed and our server seems completely gone from GT. Is it permanently deleted with no way of recovering it? We were hoping to ride out the DDOS eventually but does this mean all our previous data is now lost?

Here is URL to where the server used to be:

See: My server was deleted, what could have caused this?

Kind of a bummer that you guys can't ensure that data is not permanently lost upon a server being DDOS'd. What prevents popular servers from being deleted simply due to being hit from competition?

No matter anyway, we'll code our own tracker. Thanks.

If you filter Gametracker scanner IPs then you cannot be surprised when your server 'disappears'.
The information explaining that has been available for almost 5 years.

It takes a considerable amount of down time before a server is automatically deleted.

If all the servers that went offline were saved, just in case they come back, it could have substantial performance, storage and maintenance implications.

I understand but there's spoofed DDOS attacks out there for this specific purpose of hitting you off GT permanently. Least thing you could do is reach out to those servers who have consistently been in the top and suddenly turn offline. Atleast preserve some data for a backup or offer them a way to query the server in a hidden way/setup an alternative hidden IP to fetch status requests to mitigate this.

Or hell give us the option to download the data as a last resort before deleting it all. Not saying you should do this to all servers, but atleast those who have consistently been in the top 5 for several years.

As it stands now: Anyone with the right tool can hit off a server and there is nothing that the provider or we can do against this. We essentially lost like five years of data due to this and we were ranked #1 consistently in Jedi Academy.
