im so lost guys ive tryed to dl the patches for doom 3 and none seem to let me install so ive been trying to find a game that has the first patch,going mad to play doom,what does the server protolcol 1.4 mean please halp me

You get this error message when you try to join a server it means that the server is running Doom 3 1.3 but you are running a different version.

The in game server list only shows the servers running the same version so you generally only get this message when connecting directly by typing in an IP address or joining using an external server browser such as Xfire.
