Whats with all the HL1 servers with fake players?

I am seeing the same server listed as running on like 25 different ports on the same IP address, and somehow showing mostly the same (presumably fake) players? WTF?

Can we block them from the ranking or something?

PS: Yes, I've reported them using the "abuse" form. Did that before too, and they came back with a different IP address.

Yeah, I've done the same thing. It's a shame we work so hard on our servers to have them hidden from the list from these redirects. All of them redirect you to their main server with the 2015 port.

Yeah, lately seems like GT is becoming unstable. HTTP 503 errors for several days, right now lots of servers suddenly showing-up as "-unnamed-", etc. I am guessing original creators have moved-on, and whoever "inherited" the site/system (despite their best efforts no doubt), might be stuck with a system that all legacy code and not well documented.

Couldn't even be sure they make enough money on ads or whatever other revenue stream they may have to keep up the costs.

So, who knows how long they will be around. I am also looking at another newer more modern site (https://gamemonitoring.net/users/weaselsteamid155/servers). Downside is that it might be developed in Russia - which is always a security issue (not to take anything away from Russians technical skills though). Front-end seems to be cached through CloudFlare though. So, at least they've put some work into stability/load-balancing in advance.

Nothing like a good conspiracy theory is there?
Truth be damned, I'll tell a story anyway.

Our last alternative at this point is to host our own LGSL instances...

I also use a (paid) 3rd party service that is basically a SaaS version of HLStatsX. But, its nice to have something outside of that to reality-check, and show/search other servers of the same game - not just my own servers.

It's not a conspiracy. All the servers are somehow linked and the shown stats are from the same one.
On steam server list they are displayed as having 0 players even though steams shows only steam players and I was using one.

How can I be on 500+ servers at the same time?
