MOHAA Screen Resolution Problem

I recently installed MOHAA again, and all three games run fine. However if I want to set a higher resolution than 800x600 the screen seems to zoom in and a large chunk gets cut off. I attached an image to show what i'm talking about. I have researched all over and couldn't find anything. I have done the edit unknownsoldierconfig to custom resolutions and all that other jazz, re-installed MOHAA three times, installed the patches, done all the basic troubleshooting, and I still can't seem to fix it. If anyone can help me that would be great.

System Specs

Windows 10
Nvidia GTX 1070
16 GB Ram
Intel i7-4790 3.60ghz

My monitor has a native resolution of 3840x2160

You can try and see if it works;

Go in your main folder should be something like this:
C:\ Program Files \ EA GAMES \ MOHAA \ Mai

You have to find the 'unnamedsoldier config'.

Open that with wordpad. At the bottom add this to the config.

seta r_customheight xxxx
seta r_customwidth xxxx
seta r_mode -1

'xxxx' would equal the size you want the game to run.

It should force the game to fully fit with the resolution that you want.

Does this issue occur in other games when you use a resolution greater than 800 x 600 ?

If it's a recurring issue in other games that'll suggest that it's a problem within your GPU settings.

I can alternatively suggest that you try using the 'recommended resolution' in your windows settings.

Head over to -

Control Panel \ Appearance and Personalization \ Display \ Screen Resolution

Apply the 'recommend resolution'...

If that doesn't help, then i'm unsure of what may be causing the issue.

Also try updating your video driver and launching MOHAA as administrator.

Hopefully someone will be able to provide further assistance if the steps suggested above didn't work.

Wow, I just went into compatibility mode and checked the box override high DPI scaling behavior and it worked. I feel like an idiot

An alternate solution to this problem is to NOT install the game into the Program Files folder, which makes it a windows protected folder.

Install into C:\MOHAA\ or whatever and you'll be fine.

Also, keep a copy of the install folder on a thumb drive. You can copy it instead of running the MOHAA installer.
