Yea, that would work but playing against a bot is way different than playing against a human. That's because bots don't think like we do, and bot hunters are easier to melee. I usually play CO-OP on Loco Gamers server, and I can tell it doesn't really help me that much when I play on versus.

As a matter of fact, I was actually thinking about opening up my own dedicated server so that we could practice, and also my internet connection is faster than the one that I had before (Not sure if it’s enough for 8 Players) but for some reason I am having difficulty putting my server up on Main Browser (Flatburner had the same issue I think, don't know how he fixed it). Furthermore, I am really busy with my College work so I don't think I will be able to create the server on time.
