I just played this map from UCMP: http://www.filefront.com/12554601/ONS-UCMP-ABC-ECE/


I know it's a simple classic map, but it's done with so much love and details (new core and node meshes, new pickup meshes, new manta mesh, new spidermine meshes and many many lovely things everywhere) that I think we should put it on the server. We have maps there that are surely played less frequently than this map could be played.

And the layout is somewhat similar to the one in this snowy mountains… dunno the name right now… with a Levi in each base… and a linksetup that goes like:

I've just played it, and i liked it!
Foibos, we need this map on the server! (with some improvements, of course)

Nah, no improvements. It's not right to edit the map of everyone who ever created something for UT, especially not if he put so much love into it and if it's already a version for a CBP (what means that it's the most final version, it's considered finished by the author, no bugs are found, nothing should be changed anymore).

That's why I say: either take it as it is or leave it completely alone.

When i speak of improvements, i just mean adapt it for 32 players (more vehicues only)

I've seen that map. It's nice, but some optimizing is needed. At least weaponlockers and vehicles for 32 players (some new like my favorite hoverboards or EONS Scorpions and Hellbenders can be used as well, they could be fine).

CBP maps are NOT ready for 32 players (and online gameplay often), nor for 16 sometimes.

There is very interresting map in CBP2 which deserves to be edited and played online, the Pasargadae or the original Yorda.

I never said that it needs to be 32 players. It can be finished for an appropriate count of players that match the size of the map. Stocking vehicles up will not make the map bigger, meaning that the map is more likely to turn spammy. I know what I am talking about, I tried it with Mirage and even scaling the whole map up couldn't prevent it from getting a spammy hell for 32 players.

You shouldn't modify a map against the way it was supposed to be. And I don't think anything good of the EONS Hoverboard in it's current state, I prefer not to use it and to wait for the real UT3 Hoverboard.
My only thought was to put such a map up for times when the server has not the full population.


And for CBP-content should you really get the authors permission first. That is some kind of holy grail to me.

It will offer us some changes, it's an original map!

I tested the CBP2 pack, and i like Yorda!
Pasargadae is not bad too.

For resume, two good maps for our lovely server.
