Foib, direct links to files are pew. Linking to the describing site and naming the name of the app then is more fine.

In fact, if i want to post a picture like Foib' did at the beggining of SavoIsland's thread, it's "thumbnail" or "image"?
In the Coldsteel's thread, i selected thumbnail ![]()

Foib let ImageShack resize the image so that it didn't tear the board apart when he used the IMG tag. However, if you want to have a image in a high resolution then you should use the Thumbnail tag to give only a small preview about how the thing looks like and then the user can click on it to see it in full resolution.

Now I actually don't want to be a mapper. It would be boring and I don't want to see things with a mapper's eyes. I want to enjoy games and not "understand how they work" because it would kinda ruin some fun. It would ruin the illusion. Well, I don't even want to call it illusion...
So, I'm sorry but I think you teached me for nothing >_< I'm really sorry... Oh wait, not for nothing, this thread may teach some basic Unreal mapping skills to anyone who wants to be a mapper... I may sound like a troll but I'm using the opportunity that VK is away for some time to say that I think that his maps are "nubshit" (Hopefully this thread won't be in the recent posts when VK will be back ![]() Making maps for a server with so poor mapping skills? :/ (also, ONSLAUGHT maps O.O). Speaking about his latest map (which I never played), it's noobish to put 4 health kegs and an enhanced redeemer AND a vortex gun in one spot... He wants to flood the server with spammy nooby maps ![]() By the way not long ago I downloaded and played Half-Life and Half-Life 2 (I never played them before). Also, I'll download and play Half-Life 2: Episode One and Half-Life 2: Episode Two but first I'll be playing Half-Life 2 in hard mode. Well, I also played Portal in June and also Portal: Prelude. I'm also downloading Garry's Mod ![]() EDIT: Never mind I don't want Garry's mod. The sick videos of it are funny though.

Yeah, it basically ruins some fun to see how things are done. But on the other side it allows you to bring a bit more fun into the life of the other players, even though many of them don't appreciate the time and effort you invest for them.
But the biggest reason to do this is to actually create something out of your mind - and that's a great feeling, to see that there are at least a few guys out there who like what you came up with. Of course you can't really make your dreams come true just from mapping. That's why I want create that UDK game (and to prove my family, that I am not just playing stupid videogames (and to earn some money :p)). It's not bad that you want to stop. I wish I could sometimes see videogames just from the perspective of a player, but that is hardly possible any more, unless the game is really, really good (like Final Fantasy - the story makes you forget about the mechanics). VK isn't doing a bad job, just still need to learn some things and to put more care into testing and follow the rules that are necessary if you want to work in Unreal Engine 2. ![]()

wow, is that really a health indicator next to the nodes' names? neat!
but am I assuming right that the node indicators are visible on the whole map? like you can see the "blue base"sign in red base? or is there a limit? cuz otherwise that could cause visual distractions on maps with many nodes (e.g. maelstrom) nevertheless i am excited about us adopting that feature ![]() by the way, is it possible to add Zound to the server, but disable it by default and only letting ppl enable it by themselves? does that take alotta bandwidth? i am totally clueless about the technical stuff behind that, but it would be neat to know if u hit somebody behind a corner when comboing and stuff. ![]() |

The names are only visible on the Nodes that are attackable. You won't see it on locked Nodes.
![]() Zound, irks. Besides that would be additional work for the admin to set it up, I guess. And Foib doesn't even put UT2Vote up, even though that is more useful than Zound. ![]() ![]() |
