Very nice game, but could you tell me my goal is exactly?

I don't know what to do in the first screen:

I run the game in DosBox btw. It is great, no need for ALT-Tab and it even supports my Xbox 360-Controller.

I am not sure if Dosbox emulates perfectly the PC beeper since it is very complex to emulate .

Anyway, it seems like young gamers can't do anything without a tutorial

So, first you start in the street as shown in your screenshot.
The first step is to jump onto a small dustbin and then on a higher one (from left to right, the second and the last in your screenshot).

Avoid staying too long on one. Otherwise, the dustbin cat will pass its head out and make you fall. Usually a dog comes running in the street at that time, so if you are not quick enough to get back on a dustbin you will lose a life.

From the high dustbin, jump towards the fence. You can then jump on the clothlines. You can go back and forth the different clothelines, as long as you grab some clothes (done automatically, you just have to aim). Don't stay too long here too, otherwise one mouse will come and bite you. You can jump on a mouse to kill it (temporarily).

You will see that the windows open (turn black) one at a time.
Your aim is to enter one of them. Beware though, because people open their windows only to throw an object (?????!!!!!!!????? wacky game I told you).
Once you enter a window, you will be treated to a mini-game (chosen randomly).
I'll let you discover them and their specific rules.
I'll only mention the one with the fish bowl: you have to go into the fish bowl (yes, yes, wacky game) to start the real mini-game. And this one is, in my opinion, the most difficult of all (especially on higher levels).

Once you have finished the mini-game successfully, you will fall out the window (the same as if you had failed). But now, when windows open, you will see a female cat with Meow written.
Get into one of the window and you will be treated to the "end of level" mini-game (reach the top). If you fail, the next time you enter this mini-game it will be a bit easier.

If you succeed you have a victory animation (different ones according to the level) and you will go to the next level (faster enemies, less dustbins, windows closing faster etc...).

Never forget the alt key, which has various functions. It is needed for some mini-games. But it can also be of help at different times.
For instance, at the beginning, if you can gain enough momentum by running (with alt depressed) you can manage to super jump on a high dustbin. Try by starting from the left of the screen and super jumping on the right high dustbin.
This is actually mandatory on the last level you can start on since there are no low dustbin there.

Have fun (well don't spend many hours in a row on the game as it can be frustrating. But it is very enjoyable to play half an hour to one hour from time to time)

Thanks, I just needed the information that I need to get into a window. I tried that already and reached it, but maybe it was too late and so the cat didn't enter it…

Hmmmmm, better not let this thread die.

So, first the game is Japanese was Sutte Hakkun. It is rather well-known among people interested in the SNES, since it was one of the Sattelaview games (a Nintendo Japan-only satellite system for game downloads).
Here is a nice review/explanation

As for the current game to find:

- It was released almost at the same time as Half-Life.
Some people think that if Half-Life had not been released (or far later), the game to guess would have had much more success (although it had its fair share).
It also believed that it was rushed (hence many bugs, solved only later through patches) in order to be released at the same time as Half-Life.

- Funnily enough , when a sequel was announced, it was announced it would use the Source engine (from Half-Life 2) .
Also, the sequel is a series of episodic games (like Half-Life 2/3 went a bit after).
However, only one episode has been released and probably will be the only one since the developer was purchased by another company, which decided to change the kind of game they develop (now focusing on casual games...)

crusha_k_rool Maybe you should decrease CPU cycles, depending on you CPU speed. 3000 seems to be too high for this game.

Well, those "words" were hints to help people find Sin (cf. post #56) and I did not think an additional screenshot would have helped (the title screen maybe ).

Anyway, you have a Violent Fighting game to guess now.

I don't know how fast it should run, but 3000 is fine, it's not too fast to play and everything is smooth.

I dug up another old DOS-game that I reall own, maybe I'll post a screenshot of it later.

For the current riddle: No idea.
