What anti-cheat will be used?
Anti-cheat is a top priority for Call of Duty®: Black Ops II. We have developed our own proprietary server-side anti-cheat technology which will work alongside VAC to deliver the most advanced detection and banning capabilities of any Call of Duty game to date. We have also improved our player reporting system to make it the most effective way that you can help us catch cheaters. And starting on launch day we will have a full-time dedicated pc anti-cheat team focused solely on detecting and banning cheaters. We have a zero tolerance policy on cheating. Cheaters bans are permanent.

Will Black Ops have Matchmaking or Dedicated Servers?
Both! Call of Duty®: Black Ops II PC combines matchmaking with secure ranked dedicated servers. This means that you get into Public Matches or League Play via matchmaking lobbies. It is easy to party up and play with your friends. You can adjust your classes or scorestreaks between matches. It also means that every Public or League match is hosted on a dedicated server running in one of our high bandwidth datacenters around the globe.

Will you release the server files?
No. We are keeping the server files secure to protect the game from hacking and cheating and ensure the ranking and progression system integrity.

Can I rent a server?
No. We are providing a huge number of servers around the world at no extra charge – plenty for everyone to enjoy. And we will administer the servers.

Will there be mod tools?
No. As we continually improve and advance our in-house tools for our own content teams we are unable to provide consumer tools due to increased technical requirements, licensing restrictions, and technology dependencies.

2 weeks after release, game is overrun with hacks - wallhacks can be downloaded for free and are undetected since release.

Didn't have to cancel a preorder. I suffered through MWF2 and their matchmaking garbage. I got my start with MOH and now I have gone back. I am not real fond of warhammer but MOH is still active and I have BF# premium. EA all the way baby.

Skipping Blacks Ops if our clan can't have servers - Medal of Honor it is!

No Servers Pre order Cancelled

Was about to pre-order on steam last night, then I thought something like this might happen, glad i thought twice and found this article before I did, will see how the new medal of honor is I guess...

Black Ops 2 pre-order cancelled. I think our whole clan has cancelled. About 4-5 weeks after release its gonna be a hackers heaven (again!) Thank god for CS:GO - its made CS a little more accessible and not as hard as the previous CS games. Proper dedicated servers and it just seems aimed towards clans and proper play.

So the anti cheat is going to be anti B!tch proof too cuz i hope to god it will every damn time there is always one little butt hurt douche and to be banned for some tears spilt over a damn score will finally push me away from CoD and Damn It Bring Back Ranked servers for rent!!! Being associated to one of the highest ranked servers in the world i know for a damn fact MW2 and its copy and paste MW2.5 (MW30 counterpart was horrible.....running into the same hacker in 3 different game party's in 1 day tore me away from the MW franchise.

I have not pre-order it so no refund necessary. I learned from MW2 not to pre-order till you know what you are getting. I like how Treyarch waits about 30 days before release to tell you the bad news about the new game (just like how Infinity Ward did with MW2 back in the days). They could have told you this months ago but do not because they do not want the bad PR hurting gaming sales.

With no ACTIVE ADMINS on a given server then hackers will have their way. MW2 & MW3 are heavily filled with hackers while COD4 and BO1 have little hacking since clan/server ADMINS ban them immediately.

Our clan will remain active in BF3. We will now take a very serious look into 'Medal Of Honor: Warfighter'. This is EA's opportunity to take COD gamers away from Activision.

It is such a shame that PC gamers are treated like the black sheep of the gaming world. It was the PC that help develop the gaming world.

I got my refund today. Last time I spent money on mw2 I got ripped off. and the makers laughed all the way to the bank.

wow at this time refund is in hand! I have been looking forword to this ever since trailer and now look they can't even make people happy it was shameful enough I bought MW3 and now this!!>!>!>!>!>

With this announcement, I won't be buying Black Ops 2. Lots of pre-orders cancelled. I won't waste my money unless modifiable servers are available for rent.

Well I'm not buying it than. I'm in a strong clan on Black Ops and the only reason I keep playing is because we have our own servers and our own rules and we keep our server CLEAN. The fact that hackers will run through the game unharmed until they are caught by a "Treyarch admin" which is most likely a robot not an actual player. This is a huge let down and I have now decided to put my $60 back in my wallet and ignore BO2 for good. Unless they are going to change it. Thanks so much i should be saying. More money in my pocket and less in yours. Way to go Treyarch

Hay we have dedicated servers but we not allowing you to host it because we want you to buy DLC and play all our maps because we want your money

Also we will declare a hack free server so we can sucker people into it, like we give a shit about hackers anyways :)

I wish they would go ahead and make CoD XBox exclusive so I wouldn't waste my time with even thinking about it.

I thought that maybe Treyarch would have the PC players back (unlike IW) but they too have fallen. I will pass on Black Ops II.

Treyarch is pathetic worsen than current Infinity ward as COD Developer. COD Franchise is dead, i don't know why are they still bothering to make COD series. Treyarch needs to start making a new game from scratch without depending on COD engine.

It's same old engine means hackers will be there from day 1. You can't expect no hackers no matter how secure they make game. Overall DLC's which is cancer on PC gaming going to divide community. I am staying away from COD since 2009. Go to hell Activision.

No dedicated public files: Means hacker's paradise (pathetic)
No MOD Tools: Means good business for Treyarch getting their pocket of $$$ and spit on faces of PC community.

I just hope like hell they dont make the same mistake they made before, and have only Gameservers hosting the servers. One of the best GSP's on the globe, but shouldnt have a monopoly. Sadly, as Treyarch/IW only seem to be able to make bad decisions anymore, one can only assume they will continue the trend and allow history to repeat itself.

Sincerly I really don't know why they like to make PC gamers unhappy every year... no way to rent a server means no clan servers, no administrators playing and kicking spawncampers, hackers or unfriendly people..
In this way COD PC clans will die... and it's Treyarc and Activision fault.

I won't buy the game for these reasons.

Hahahaha.....seems that will be the same shit with MW2 and MW3.....we will see if their server are over runned with cheater or hacker as in these two...i got no good feeling....and well seems there will be the same connection problems in that matchmaking system....god thanx that i am not buying any codd again....thumbs down...
