![]() It's just... hibernated? I mean the former mighty TechCom. Jendrys said the disk is lost, so there is no recovery possible. He started the server again with basic settings, but I have not enough time for full reconstruction. VK is currently working on LDG #4 and I think it could be a good TechCom successor (and I would be glad to help there). You know... all good things must come to pass. |

And Epic is lately having some issues with the Master Server being pretty slow to query or sending incomplete lists, so it's really hard to catch players at the moment unless they favourited the server already.
There are numerous threads about this in the Epic Forums already. Currently they try to block all LDG servers IP because the servers use some bloody hack that bombs the Master Server with packages and make their servers appear in every gametype regardless of what is played. So if you miss out on occasional players in the future, it's likely because Epic blocked the IP. ![]() |

Ok, LDG Servers are fully blocked now, but they did indeed seem to be the cause of problems with the Master Server, which runs as good as back in the old days now again.
Tough luck for the one who tried to attract more players with such questionable practices, I guess… ![]() |

Nah, we were unblocked cca. a day later. LDG wasn't related to the slowness of Master Server at all, it was just a blame, there was no packet bombing. Epic didn't like how Ballistic servers appeared in all common gametypes, that's why we were blocked (all servers have same IP), once I disabled that, we got back unblocked.
Way to go, you can announce it everywhere but then it would be also good to tell it was a false positive (as can be seen on Epic Forum). I suppose you didn't post anywhere else than here and on CEONSS? btw. Flak was saying the slowness related to ut2004 stats on Epic Forum (or that's what I got). btw. #2: Since we got two ballistic servers, we dropped the numbering we had. "LDG #5 Onslaught" is simply "LDG Onslaught" now etc.

Sorry, maybe I was a bit overreacting. I just can't stand the thought that the successor of the server I once trusted turned out to use unfair practices to gain an edge against the other fair servers that have the same right to attract players as everyone else.

Players on the server do not stay because it showed in every gametype, they just got its attention. Players stay because they enjoy the game on our servers. Don't get me wrong, it's not to get "fair servers" unpopulated, not at all.

I spoke with Foibos few months ago through PM about putting Techcom on my server but then I didnt recieved any response from him so I think that its done forever.

It was a good time on Techcom and I am grateful for all the opportunities I had here. Unfortunately did the latest map roster no longer appeal to me. ![]() |
